SAMI FEKADU

I take on the systems that have to work at scale, under constraint, with no room to fail. Fifteen years of it, mostly on federal programs, and the teams that shipped it.

What I do

Hard problems, solved properly

The work I want is the work with no documented answer. Scale that breaks the standard approach, constraints that rule out the textbook fix, deadlines that do not move. I own the architecture, I write production code, and I lead the team doing the same. I keep client specifics off a public page and I am glad to go deep in conversation.

Pressure absorbed, not deferred

Every system has a point where the obvious approach stops paying. Add capacity and it buckles somewhere else. Patch the symptom and it returns under a different name.

I look for the structural answer instead of the workaround, so the system meets demand as it rises rather than falling behind it and catching up later. That is the difference between a platform that grows and one that gets rewritten.

Demand rises, capacity follows it in real time. Nothing waits in line.

AI delivery

Making models useful

A trained model is the easy part. The hard part is everything around it: getting data in, moving it through, handling the failures nobody planned for, and turning a prediction into something a person can act on with confidence.

Scale

Designing for the load curve

Most systems scale on whatever is easiest to measure rather than on what actually predicts strain. Finding the signal that sees pressure coming, and building the response around it, turns capacity from an incident into a non-event.

Platform

Tooling teams keep using

Simulators, end-to-end test harnesses, shared libraries, and dashboards that show what is really happening. The work that turns a day of hunting into a few minutes, built once and reused everywhere after.

Full stack

Interface to infrastructure

I work the whole depth of the system, from what the user touches down to what it runs on. Modernization too: carrying legacy platforms forward without stopping the business that depends on them.

Leadership

Raising the team's ceiling

Setting technical direction, reviewing work, and making the call when there are three defensible options and no obvious winner. I brief leadership and demo to customers myself rather than handing it off.

Federal

Delivering inside the constraints

Cleared environments, compliance gates, security reviews, and release windows that do not move. Fifteen years of shipping inside them without treating any of it as an excuse for slow work.
